Welcome to Law & Lore Archives, formerly known as Two Queens True Crime. What started as a true crime blog has become somewhat of an outlet for me to explore whatever my brain has chosen to become fixated on this week, or month. I started dabbling in publishing other content last year and with the blogs revamp there will be more frequent posts that delve into historical events and their notable participants, plus mysteries, myths and fairytale figures. If you subscribed to or are visiting this blog for the true crime, fear not, it is not going anywhere!
There is no doubt that us humans have always been weirdly fascinated with the world of true crime, and I don’t think that will go away anytime soon, however the grey area about creating content around other human’s tragedy is continually discussed. This is something that I have tried to be conscious of whilst writing in the past and going forward I have made the decision to only publish works on historical crimes (again the time lapse is a grey area but I have decided to stick to thirty years and older).
For the True Crime enthusiasts, you can find shorter reads, a summary if you will, of victims, perpetrators and crimes under the section named ‘Portraits’. But if you’re looking for something that requires, nay demands, that you curl up with several snacks and your favourite tipple, then head over to ‘The Full Story’, where I take a more in-depth look into a particular case.
For the history buffs and fairytale fanatics, new pages will start to appear as I create new content. ‘Myths and Monsters’ is up and running, although I’ll admit currently looking a little desolate, and I hope to add a ‘History’ and possibly a ‘Women of Note’ section in the coming months.
Thank you so much for visiting, I hope you enjoy your time here. Last year was a difficult one and I had neither the passion nor the energy to write regularly. This means that I have a ‘To Research’ list as long as both my arms put together, longways not next to each other which is indeed a tricky move for your average human, and I am determined to work my way through it. This introduction is not only a warm welcome to you but also a promise to myself, one I truly hope to fulfil this year.
See you on the other side!
P.S. I also sometimes create crosswords to help make my brain quiet, if you want to take five and get lost with me, you can find links to my extremely amateur crossword puzzles under the ‘Crossword’ tab.
